A Visit from Saint Nick

This year, Christmas has been more of a season than a day. Santa visited again last night and filled Henry and Sibyl's stockings. (The kids must have been pretty good to get this kind of repeat performance.)

Henry woke up first, and couldn't wait for everyone else to come and open their presents.

When Sibyl woke up, she was pretty happy about the situation.

Sibyl got Pop a pirate kite, and even helped him open it.

She got a few presents of her own, too.

Visiting Santa

Luckily for Sibyl, Santa, despite his busy schedule, regularly stops by a fabulous house in the Castro.

Dance Recital

Last Friday, Sibyl and her class entertained their parents (and younger siblings) with a dance recital. First they demonstrated their warm-up:

Then they brought down the house with this classic:

Here Sibyl decorates Henry's car seat with a collection of objects she has organized into a square on the floor. (Sibylese subtitles provided when possible.)

Happy Thanksgiving

Aunt Alisha and Uncle John came over for the most festive of Thursdays, whipping up a fantastic meal and even helping Sibyl trim the Christmas tree.

Sibyl and Henry took their mom to the Academy of Sciences after school today.

Sibyl's favorite fish was the shark.

Henry spent most of the visit sacked out in the baby carrier.

But he woke up in time to check out the coral reef.

Happy Kids

Is this not what every parent has in mind when considering a second child?

Tummy Time? I Think Not.

Randall Party

The Halloween festivities continue, this time with a party at the Randall Museum. Sibyl opted to add wings and become a fairy princess, and once again Henry sported his monkey costume, even though he spent the entire party asleep in a carrier.

The Princess and the Monkey

The first party of the busy Halloween season took place in the Presidio.

Henry makes a dashing monkey.

Naturally, Sibyl is a lovely princess. (The gold necklace makes it clear that she is Jasmine.)

Princesses are very artistic people.

And nothing delights them more than meeting other princesses.

School Picnic

Sibyl took her family (including Grammie!) to a preschool picnic, where she ran and played with her friends, fueled by as many cookies and cupcakes as she could get her hands on.

Henry prepared for the event with a nap in Automom, his automatic swing:

He then snoozed through the picnic in his stroller, charming the other parents nontheless.

Sibyl "graduated" from pre-preschool this week.

What did she learn in her year as a Big Fish? Besides making many great friends, she definitely made strides toward a career as a trapeze artist.

Compare her aerial skills here to what she could do last fall.
